Filipino Food Markets

Filipino dishes was something I was never fond of growing up, and till this day I tend to be very selective of what I eat. But as a part of my culture, I admire the many styles and types of dishes that originated from my home country.

There are so many different types of fruits and vegetables for sale at these markets. The different colors are very attractive to me, so I could not help to take a few photos.

I had no idea that shrimp were even this color, my aunt had to explain to me that there are different types of shrimp. I felt very sheltered after finding out that information.

This market, known as "Festival" is always busy with customers buying fresh ingredients for their dishes. The market is located in Waipahu, and I highly recommend it if you want to buy fresh ingredients. A bit of a warning, the parking lot has limited stalls, so be sure to go earlier in the day.
